Birds & Beers, May 2017

Birds & Beers is an informal social get-together for any interested birders. The Calgary Chapter, organized by Dan Arndt and a few other local birders, usually meets once a month. The next meeting will be this Friday, May 26th.

There is no cost or registration for Birds & Beers; just show up and have a drink or a meal if you want, and chat about birds. Of course, there are lots of new birds to talk about at this time of year. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. So drop by any time after 6 pm and join us.

Birds & Beers are held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9202 Horton Road SW. We start at 6 pm, but you can come anytime after 6. We usually stay until about 9 pm. Food and drinks are available. Everyone is welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult.

Birds & Beers are held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9202 Horton Road SW. We start at 6 pm, but you can come anytime after 6. We usually stay until about 9 pm. Food and drinks are available. Everyone is welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult.

Birds & Beers, 30 September 2016

Next Friday there will be another Birds & Beers social get-together at the Horton Road Legion in Calgary. Everyone is welcome (including children if accompanied by an adult) to come out to meet your fellow birders and talk about what’s going on in local birding, or any topic you want. Food and drinks are available at reasonable prices.

Birds & Beers: Summer/Fall 2016 Schedule

After a short break for the summer, the popular Birds & Beers social events will resume in August. Here are the dates to save for the rest of 2016:

August 26, September 30, October 28, and December 9

Note: the one that had been scheduled for November 18 was changed to December 9.

There will be no Birds & Beers in December, but we plan to continue in January.

These meetings will be held at our usual location:

We will be meeting in a private room in the back  of the building. When you arrive at the front lobby, the door will be locked so you will have to buzz and wait for someone to let you in. Then proceed to the back, past the food counter. There will be signs with directions.

Birds & Beers is an informal social gathering in which you can meet other birders and talk about birding. If you wish, you can have a drink or a meal as well. Prices at the Legion are very reasonable and the food is excellent. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult, so bring the family!

Birds & Beers March 2016

The March Birds & Beers event will be held next Friday, March 18, from 6 to 9 pm. We will meet at the usual location, the Royal Canadian Legion at 9202 Horton Road SW. Everyone is welcome to come out for food, drinks, and discussions about anything relating to birds and birding.

This month, Melanie Senerviratne will speak about the upcoming Calgary May Species Count. If this is something you want to take part in, come out and sign up to count birds on May 28-29!

Birds & Beers, January 2016

The Calgary chapter of Birds & Beers will hold their next event at the usual location, the Horton Road Legion, on Friday January 29 from 6 to 9 pm.

Birds & Beers is an informal social gathering in which you can meet other birders and talk about birding. If you wish, you can have a drink or a meal as well. Prices at the Legion are very reasonable and the food is excellent. Everyone is welcome, including children if accompanied by an adult.

This month, instead of a speaker, the 2015 Calgary Birding Competition will be awarding the prizes to the winners. Come out and show your appreciation for all the competitors.
